The Art of Elysium, founded by Jennifer Howell, took over Siren Orange Studios on the 21st of last month to host two charitable and art-filled events. The first of which was Little Pieces of Heaven, a gathering sponsored by the Jo Mitchell Foundation and Birchbox, where art and charity joined together to support the families of hospitalized children. In between taking fun photos at the Hot Shot Photo Booth and enjoying sweets from Magnolia Bakery, guests were treated to “street art on the go” in the form of The Mobile Mural Lab. Sunshines, smiley faces, and signatures with hearts and stars were written all over the sides of a truck that will drive around L.A. like a mobile exhibition. Jamie-Lynn Sigler lended her creative talents, painting and bedazzling with other attendees. The event, in total, provided the children and volunteer artists with an engaging opportunity to showcase their art on a larger stage.
Uplifted from such a display of youth artwork, the benevolent evening continued as established artists gathered to celebrate emerging ones at the 4th Annual GENESIS party. Charitable and enthusiastic party-goers were buoyed by a bevy of Cîroc cocktails as they took in a paint-splattered Gregory Siff - sprawled on the floor with his live art installation. We also had the chance to glimpse a video showing two murals created for the USC Childrens hospital by Shepard Fairey and Phil Lumbang. The pop-up beauty bar was filled with goodies, prettily packaged, from Birchbox. At last the chatter ceased and Wildcat! Wildcat!, Family, and The Child played long into the night, along with DJ Chris Holmes and DJ Bizzy. Those in attendance had a chance to brush shoulders with supporters of The Art of Elysium and Flaunt friends, David Arquette, Evan Peters, Kat Von D, Ali Larter, Vanessa Prager, Colleen Atwood and Travis Van Winkle. 100% of the ticket proceeds have gone right back in to The Art of Elysium's programs and as if that wasn't enough, all of the artists involved selflessly donate their time and their art for the cause.
