When the Beatrice Inn shut its doors for good, Cody Ross' basement studio on West 4th and 11th became a whole new mecca for all the radical, revolutionary party girls wandering around the West Village like lost little children.
Downtown darling Cody Ross now has five collections under his goth-glam belt- what we know as the label Priestess NYC. He dresses A-listers and pop icons alike; From Tyra Banks to Bjork, M.I.A. and Katy Perry to Natalie Portman. Keri Hilson models the current jewelry line.
Ross is Dallas born and London educated. He cut his teeth all over Asia working as a financial analyst before, as my sister might say, "throwing it all away" to chase his fashion dreams.
This witty financial genius draws his inspiration from mathematics and the odd abstract art piece; all drowned in a healthy dose of kitschy vintage punk sensibility.
The result- fans in every megalopolis in the United States and a matching explosion overseas.
Add sunglasses, fingerless motorcycle gloves, a happily hard drinking attitude, and a fluffy part-alien part-puppy mascot named Hanzo... and you get Cody Ross.
