The Oregon diaspora continues whith The Parson Redheads, who bear the West Coast hippiester torch with appropriate grit and flare–a little country, a little tab on your tongue, playful yet well-organized. They moved down to Los Angeles in the summer of 2005 and have since done residencies and shows around LA: The Silver Lake Lounge, The Echo, and Spaceland. They've also played for “Morning Becomes Eclectic,” toured with Blitzen Trapper and Earlimart, and have seen airplay from Indie 103.1 (RIP), KUCI, KDVS, KXLU, KUSF, and KCRW.

I caught their opening at Spaceland in Silverlake for Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3, an ensemble of unspeakably good aural fixation.

Their latest release “Orangufang” is out now on Jaxart Records. Catch them on tour:
