Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time

February 23rd, 2010 by

Moët and Chandon are sweety pies. Why? Because they like to gift their pals with bubbles. And with bubbles come puddles of cuddles. And in some cases: troubles.

It's like this: you're off to Spain for ARCO-Madrid. The four-packs of Moet's little mini's arrive. At 187ml (or about six ounces), they conveniently swaddle into your luggage amongst the designer wools and knits. What's more, they're sleek, not gharishly bulksome–which, as anyone knows, is of necessity when heading to Europe.

Finally, what says Champagne more than International Arrivals? After all, meet and greet with other cross-Atlantic sweety pies is rarely a miss when handled all light in the toes.

So you go, you eat a few oily meals, check out heaps of art, marvel at the old men mustaches, the fantastic fur on the February streets, and return happy....

to this: "Sometimes people just need to celebrate in isolation, I guess. And we all understand Matthew's motive was either greed for alcohol, or something more intimate and emotional. But that doesn't make it right."

This from a fellow editor, Miss Mui-Hai Chu.

And thus, a lesson learned: don't disrupt the karmic cycle.

When Moet and Chandon demonstrate that sharing is caring, you damned well better spread the love.
