Flaunt friend, photographer Sarah Skinner, illed all summer with French electronic group, Dirtyphonics, while they traipsed the globe delivering their thump and bump of cerebral splendor. As seen below, they clearly enjoyed themselves, and didn't hesitate to partake of the delicious natural wonders that are American cuisine. Group member, Charly Barranger, recently shared with us on tour traditions, afternoon sexual interludes, and keeping it freshly French in the face of opposition.

Describe for me the ultimate high point of your N. American tour this summer?
Man, playing the Electronic Daisy Carnival in L.A was off the fucking hook. The crowd in L.A is so diverse and crazy. You guys definitively know how to party! And I mean the gig and the after party, both were pretty intense. Make sure to check our tour videos that will be online soon to get an inside view of what happened. Racing in the streets of L.A with sports car was fun too.

What to you describes bad behavior ?
Being happy to settle for something average, not giving your best at whatever you do. We're bored with people who don't want to push things further and take risks to make it happen. More seriously, not attending a Dirtyphonics show is also a very very bad behaviour.
Which celebrity would you most like to see grow disgustingly obese and why?
Justin Bieber! We all know why he deserves it.

Your top 5 songs for making sweaty afternoon love to?
1. Marvin Gaye "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"
2. Herbalizer "Sensual Woman"
3. Imogen Heap "Hide and Seek"
4. Bloody Beetroots "Warp 1977" (Dirtyphonics Remix)
5. Serge Gainsbourg "Melody Nelson"

What does the future of electro/drum and bass music look like?
We can’t reveal any secrets yet as we’re still working on it. All we can say is that the global electronic scene is growing bigger and stronger. Electronic artists are getting more exposure and this is very healthy. Genres are mixed together, bridges are being created, people are more open minded…If you listen to some of our tracks (Vandals, Polygon Remix or Quarks), we like to create new things, crossing genres and the response we've received has been awesome.
Who likely doesn’t listen to Dirtyphonics that probably should?
World leaders should listen to Dirtyphonics. Actually, they may already do...

Describe any Dirty pre-performance rituals?
Well basicaly, from the minute we leave home the ritual starts: jumping in a plane, sound-checking, partying at the hotel before the gig... Right before getting on stage we like to group hug, pat each other in the back and have a shot of vodka. People don’t do that enough.
Least favorite/absolute favorite thing about the Dirty creative process?
Being four in the studio and being four in the studio. It’s the biggest fights and the best laughs. It brings a lot of depth and richness to our music and to what we do. We can all bounce off of each others ideas and it pushes us to the max, to find crazy new ideas, to explore the unknown.

The ideal venue and audience?
We like to play all sorts of crowds and it’s always cool to play your music to people who have no idea what to expect from you. Festival crowds are great for this. As for venues… it's a hard one. We've played in a lot of different clubs and festivals around the world. We ve experienced so many things and discovered so many places while touring...playing the Madison Square Garden would be cool.
Does size matter?
Our North American tour was called “French Do It Better”… do we really need to talk about size?

Why is the sky blue?
The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air. However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.
Any major laws you’d like to see eradicated?
The prohibition of blowjobs in a couple American States. Seriously…
