Nightlife: Eric Ray Davidson's The New York Times Fashion Week Photo Diary

Much like the newly discovered “Elvis” monkey of Southeast Asia, spotting a model in her natural habitat, in the hubba-hubba that has come to define the madness of any runway show, is a rare find. One of our favorite contributing photographers, Eric Ray Davidson, showed his The New York Times Fashion Week Photo Diary last Thursday at Siren Studios, capturing the candor and business of a catwalk in a provocatively coherent artistic perspective via eleven 8 by 12 feet behind-the-scenes fashion show photographs. Highlights included "Tommy & Stam," a shared kiss between designer Tommy Hilfiger and model Jessica Stam, "Stress," featuring a model anxiously waiting for a cab after a show, "Bagged Model," a peculiar backstage moment, and "Kanye Leaving Proenza," among others. All proceeds from sale of signed posters and art prints benefited THERAsurf, a collective whose goal is to provide healing children with the opportunity to safely get into the water, and up on to waves.
