A healthy dose of fantasy is always good for the soul. Like a sexual chicken soup, we say. Campbell’s might balk at our comparison, but famed supermodel-turned-fashion-photographer Ellen von Unwerth has been dishing it out for years.
Last Friday, Flaunt eagerly pounced at the chance to attend a masquerade ball and signing of Unwerth’s book, Fräulein, at TASCHEN’s Beverly Hills store. Shot over the past 15 years, Fräulein alluringly marries fashion and fetish, counting Kate Moss, Dita von Teese, Adriana Lima, Carla Bruni, and Claudia Schiffer among the willing models. Unwerth’s genius shines in that her subjects, clothed or lacking, never appear objectified, though decadence and carnal intrigue fuel the shots.
Fräulein is authored by Ingrid Sischy, and available through TASCHEN.
