British Afropop artist, Adeniké compiles a rich vocal talent with a sensational danceable new single out now called “Tonight.” We are led by her enthralling vocals, lush melodies, and relatable songwriting, over the infectious drum-heavy dancefloor filler Afrobeats musical backdrop provided by SHØLA, burgeoning Ivorian Nigerian musician and producer. For ages and ages they tried to push me to pursue my music, I always used the excuse that I was never ready. I would get so shy and nervous if I was asked to sing around people, the best times to catch me out are when I’m singing randomly. This because I was never confident in my voice but, I finally came to the realisation that I need to use and believe in my voice. My journey has just started and although it won’t be an easy one I’m ready for it. Also having people around me that have my best interest at heart and believe in me gives me the drive. **Do you have a particular process for making music or does it fluctuate depending on what you’re conveying and feeling?** I have a specific way of making music, I have to hear the beat before I get an idea. Whilst I listen to the beat, depending on the type of vibe it gives me, I just let the lyrics flow and then from that I decide what the song is about.  **What are some of your inspirations?** My only inspiration right now is my son. At his very young age he shows me that he can put his mind to anything especially the things that he loves to do, so I constantly remind myself of that and because of him I can literally achieve anything.  **What was the biggest learning moment in making this new track?** The biggest learning moment whilst making ‘Tonight’ was when my producer Shola encouraged me to come out of my comfort zone. The way in which I write my lyrics are very simple, however she was able to encourage me to add a different type of style to it, something I’m not used to as I am usually very shy, she was able to help me see that even in music the little things can make such a difference.  “My producer SHØLA put this instrumentation on, during one of our many frequent studio sessions, and I just went with the flow, and she was feeling the vibe as much as I was. I instantly got a love vibe from the track, and started writing the beginnings of what is now ‘Tonight’. We recorded the foundations of the track that same day, and built the record out from there. What I love about working with SHØLA is that she understands my sound”. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ \-ADENIKÉ --------- **What is your message and driving force for creating?** Freedom of expression as a woman, whether is love, pain etc. In my past especially the area i’m from I feel as women, our voices are always placed secondary and i feel with music it gives me the power to compete and be as loud as anyone.  **Who are some of your musical heroes and icons that you look up to?** Although I don’t have many. My top icons are Jessie J, Lauren Hill, Burna Boy & Tiwa savage.  **What music are you currently listening to ? **I listen to a bit of everything but for me everyday it’s afrobeats/afropop.  **Besides music what other passions are you invested in? **One day I would like to own my own cosmetics line, as well as become a Doula, which Is someone who guides and supports women who are pregnant and after birth.   **How does your identity and culture play into your music? **I’m Nigerian which plays a huge part in my music. I love adding my mother tongue Yoruba, I try to implement that lot in my music. I also live in London, Peckham which has a very big impact in my view on things and upbringing. **What are you currently working on and what is next for you? **I am currently working on releasing my new single ‘Tonight’ out on the 17th of April. I want to be more consistent with my releases so me and the team are planning on releasing another track around June **Where can people listen to your music? **my music is available on all platforms such as YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, ITunes Store, Tidal, Amazon music, and Google play all they got to do is type ‘ Adenike ‘
