Throughout her two years of working with McQueen, she first-handedly witnessed and aided him in creating some of his most coveted and critically acclaimed pieces from the beginning of his career.  When she left in 1996, Ruti was gifted with a few of these one of a kind items and has carefully preserved them to ensure their longevity. Due to this meticulous preservation and her rigor, a few of the archival items were placed in London and New York’s exhibitions for “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” as well as a few other fashion features. Following this, the one of a kind pieces will be held for auction beginning on February 18th - 22nd with a live auction at Omni-Parker House in Boston, MA. Along with the fashion items, Danan’s personal photography book documenting her time working and spending time with McQueen. Days and weeks without rest and relentless work would be rewarded with garments, and I was often asked to wear pieces to meet clients on business trips to demonstrate cut and fit. I rescued a large amount of items of Autumn Winter 1995 from the Farringdon Studios when the landlord threatened to lock us out due to unpaid rent.  Photo courtesy of RR Auction ![Photo courtesy of RR Auction](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472bcb6aa009482a8bbaaa0_image-asset.jpeg) Photo courtesy of RR Auction **_Why have you decided to sell?_**  While a very emotional and difficult decision, I believe that institutions like museums and especially educational outlets/students should benefit from this one-of-a-kind collection and irreplaceable British Fashion legacy. So many can learn from McQueen's approach, techniques, and themes. Maintaining such rare and valuable examples of British Fashion History also bears a cost and huge responsibility. I have cared and looked after this collection for nearly 25 years and want to share with the world!  Photo courtesy of RR Auction ![Photo courtesy of RR Auction](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/56c346b607eaa09d9189a870/1581722274937-R6J2N17HQBC9PLM6ZFEO/flauntmagazine3423068_1.jpg) Photo courtesy of RR Auction **_Where do you hope that these items go, or who do you hope to purchase these items?_** Ideally to an institution that would keep as much of the storyline intact, as long as it is cherished, and hopefully shared with the world to learn and celebrate his vision. In a perfect world, an individual or institution would buy it in its entirety and keep the complete story as a whole. We’ve seen unprecedented growth with the current designer vintage market,” said Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction. “So this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a unique portion of fashion history.  These are museum-quality pieces, so ideally, they will go to a museum or institution so that they can be seen and enjoyed for generations to come," added Livington.   Photo courtesy of RR Auction ![Photo courtesy of RR Auction](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472bcb6aa009482a8bbaaa4_image-asset.jpeg) Photo courtesy of RR Auction
