[Ballon Rouge Collective](https://www.ballonrougecollective.com) has an upcoming project in NYC, _you pinned me down like a butterfly on the wall_ curated by [Kathy Battista](https://www.sothebysinstitute.com/why-sothebys/our-faculty-and-guest-speakers/kathy-battista). The project features Royal College of Art alum [Marie Jacotey](https://www.instagram.com/mariejacotey/?hl=en), as she confronts the autobiographical “with a wry sense of humor and irony, most often featuring female protagonists, alone or with others, and at times with accompanying text.”
The text and images tell a very 21st-century female narratives that are close to the west coast punk aesthetic. For the exhibit in New York Jacotey will be showing a recent body of work with an increasing role of pattern and floral motifs that will cover the drawings.
