 Photo by Marco Anelli Chief Creative Officer of Burberry, Riccardo Tisci, has joined forces with contemporary artist Marina Abramović to design costumes for her new opera titled “7 Deaths of Maria Callas.” The joint costume design integrated elements of theatrical opera with modern reinvention to reconstruct historical ideals of masculinity and femininity. The costumes are essential to the journey of each of the characters.   Photo by Marco Anelli Tisci says: “I am a romantic dreamer at my core, so this was a very easy project to get involved with. The subject is one of love in all its forms, from the light to the dark. Marina is one of my great personal loves and I feel privileged to call her my friend and my family. She is one of the world’s most daring and brave artists, and it’s an incredible honour to collaborate with her once again on a subject that is so close to both of our hearts.” “7 Deaths of Maria Callas” will continue to be performed in Berlin, Athens and Paris and will also be live streamed September 5 on Staatsoper.Tv at 9:30 AM PST.
