In spite of its catchy Poptronica first impression, the song is far from just dancefloor bait. With its surprisingly introspective lyrical center, it demands the listener's full attention to really chew through the lush exterior and meet the artist in her personal and vulnerable space. Though this is probably exactly what fans of Elohim have been flocking to, that core of realness and personal involvement they can latch on to besides the undeniable catchy quality of the surface. Like the vast majority of Elohim's work, "Little Idiot" arrives from a place of often painful self-discovery. The song is part of her ongoing 4-part project called _Journey To The Center of Myself_, a truly introspective epic where artists and listeners are invited to be frank with themselves.  In this particular case, Elohim comes clean and reflects on her own role in a broken friendship. The track has a very interesting duality going for itself. On the one hand, its sound has a grand exploitative quality to it that would make it ideal for EDM festivals. On the other, it comes from a place of internal reflection and very personal (but relatable) struggles. In spite of this very lush and futuristic sound, there's not a hint of overproduction. In fact, there's a slight hint of candid bedroom-pop in there, perhaps in the lyrics. With over 300 million combined streams globally and a collaboration record sheet that includes Flux Pavillion, GRiZ, and Skrillex, to name a few. It's certain that the self-proclaimed "Little Idiot" knows what she's doing.
