I found myself heartbroken, with nothing left. I had left my former company I had founded, had no plans for my future, and no home. I wound up living this very unexpected nomadic life between New York City and Los Angeles,” Kaerhart states about the 3-year hiatus she took from recording music after releasing electro-pop tracks “Drain My Love” and “Losing my Mind” in 2018.  Premiered exclusively on _Flaunt_, her newest video and release [“Heart of Stone”](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0V9wlUP5btPS9oDmGHvKUr) is a song of triumph and healing from the most tumultuous time of her life and the next iteration of Kaerhart’s evolving sound. As a writer, performer, and producer Kaerhart is known for her dynamic vocals, gifted storytelling and tight production that blends elements of alternative and electronic music. “Heart of Stone” is a blend of guitars and synths that emphasize that feeling of overcoming and thriving.  Kaerhart shares about the process, “I wrote this song about fully accepting all parts of me—shadow and all—after a painful breakup. I was homeless and bouncing between cities, living this strange nomad life when the hook came to me. I used to try to act tough and that meant not showing my emotions (heart of stone), but the experience of being this heartbroken nomad broke me wide open. I realized that is the true path to empowerment and knowing myself, to embrace my softness and vulnerability.”  The video for “Heart of Stone” was originally planned to be an “epic” shot in Los Angeles or New York City with stylists, videographers, what Kaerhart called “pulling out all of the stops.” The more and more Kaerhart planned this out, she realized this vision was no longer true to the song.  “I decided to shoot it in Asheville, North Carolina. I realized that getting super dressed up, wearing makeup, and flying to a city to shoot a music video wasn’t true to me anymore. I spent most of the past year in baggy, comfortable clothes, no makeup and in the forest. Why not be honest with where I am at right now? Luckily I found my insanely talented director/videographer Andrew Anderson nearby and we instantly hit it off. The music video was shot in one day across various locations in the mountains of Asheville. I think it brings a new dimension to the song.”  This will be the first of many new releases for Kaerhart in 2021 and beyond. In addition to her work as a singer-songwriter, Kaerhart is a best-selling author through Penguin Randomhouse, releasing her first book; [_You Are Cosmic Code: Essential Numerology_](https://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Cosmic-Code-Numerology-ebook/dp/B088D28DPF)  in 2020.
