Life-size kinetic robot outside GENTLE MONSTER flagship at Westfield Valley Fair Mall.
South Korean eyewear brand GENTLE MONSTER has just opened a flagship store in Westfield Valley Fair Mall this month as a part of their plan to open stores in major cities across the country. Customers are invited in by a life-size kinetic old woman, and they are taken on a journey of her fading childhood memories. The brand has become known for their attention to detail and futuristic concepts.
Keeping with the current unprecedented times, GENTLE MONSTER has introduced a new kind of retail experience, “Modern bricks-and-mortar retail has evolved and changed significantly over the last several years, but now during a pandemic when nothing is 'normal', we felt compelled to pursue our vision for a future-facing retail experience,” said Director of Customer Experience David Kim.
The store also features life-size characters like moving donkeys placed opposite each other on a podium, creating the optical illusion of a mirror-image, and a looming kinetic pine tree held up by a giant hand. With these meticulously thought out installations, the store allows its customer to escape into the far out world that GENTLE MONSTER has created.
