In 1976, Sunil Gupta walked down Christopher Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, home to a proud post-Stonewall community. Portraying New Yorker’s individuality became Gupta’s forte while documenting the cultural scene of his generation. For Fall/ Winter 2020, Helmut Lang celebrates the accomplished artist and returns him to Christopher Street for a series of street style images. The photographs offer a nostalgic time machine to the 70s era while capturing the essence of a modern-day Helmut Lang.
