Mississippi-native Christone “Kingfish” Ingram releases the music video for the second single off of his sophomore album, _662_, “Long Distance Woman.” The video, which premieres today on _Flaunt_, sees the blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist on the opposite side of a screen phoning in on a faceless girlfriend far away.
“You never stay in place too long, long enough to settle down” Kingfish sings over crunchy grumbling guitar. He’s over this long distance woman, it seems, continuing, “It’s way too far from here, to where you are.” Is it worth it? On the track, Ingram states, “Maintaining a healthy relationship is already hard and when you sprinkle in distance it can make matters of the heart particularly taxing. Covid certainly changed and tested how we all communicate.”
Hit the 2 minute mark, and Kingfish breaks into a shrieking guitar solo, only ensuring you don’t forget his enchanting capabilities with six strings. Today, Kingfish also announces the tour, 662: Juke Joint Live, in support of his critically acclaimed sophomore effort. Released in July 2021, _662_ has spent multiple weeks on the Billboard Blues Chart, debuting at #1, and returning again to #1 just this week. Catch just a glimpse of the young star’s spellbinding songwriting and performance via the “Long Distance Woman” visual below, and catch him on the road starting this March.
