Born in Sarcelles, France, both of them are self-taught choreographers boasting millions of followers across all social media platforms.  Nicknamed Lil Beats and Ca Blaze, Les Twins have danced for everyone from Beyonce to Missy Elliott, even winning _World of Dance,_ the reality dance competition produced by Jennifer Lopez. Now, they travel the world doing workshops and teaching their original choreography. Most recently, Laurent and Larry teamed up with Hennessy in translating the creative process behind the 2021 V.S Limited Edition release Cognac into their own unique expression. The 3-day journey was documented via a virtual reality headset, allowing you to unlock exclusive content to get the inside scoop on their designs that are directly inspired by freestyle movement. Do something that no one had ever done before. It all started with Hennessy’s global marketing manager Elodie and her vision to bring our movement to life on the bottle. We met with Elodie in Paris, and she presented us with such an incredible vision. We knew from that moment that this collaboration would be epic. **Being from Sarcelles, France, what was that like growing up?** Growing up in Sarcelles, I think for every kid our age was very hard. We grew up very poor, but we also grew up learning how to love and appreciate the small things in life. Our mom did a great job teaching us to appreciate and value what’s really important.  We’re grateful for our humble upbringing.  **You’re identical twins, what do you each bring to the table?** We both bring competition. I bring the competition for him, and he brings it for me. That is what keeps us evolving and keeps us great.  ![](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/56c346b607eaa09d9189a870/1633564187313-BYWQKRRDGUSTPELBDAGU/a-_LV-A0.jpeg) **Who are your biggest influences?** In regards to what influenced us to start dancing… well a few people, but none of them were dancers. Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Jackie Chan and of course babies. I think this is why our dance is so animated and filled with emotion. Have you ever watched a baby dance? It’s perfection. They don’t care about “moves” or “rules,” they just flow with the music. **When did this love for dance and music come about?** We were born with this passion. It started in the womb. My mom and all my family love music and love to dance. We were born this way.  **When did you realize you could do it for a living?** **Larry:** I don’t think we ever technically “realized“ we could do it for a living, it just was.  **Laurent:** I knew there were no other options, it was the only way. I actually got Larry fired from his job so we could do what we were meant to do.   **What was it like interpreting your dance skills with this technology and art medium?** The hardest thing about motion capture is that it can capture the technical part of your move, but not the emotion or feeling. Our dance encompasses a lot of powerful emotion, feeling and animation. We needed to make sure that all the raw emotion was captured as well.  Alongside the incredible team at Hennessy, we were able to incorporate the different materials and elements used to create Cognac. From the vineyard to the distillery all the way to the bottle and packaging. Incorporating all these elements allowed us to bring life and emotion to a usually very ‘technical’ motion capture. **Tell me about your new original single “Mirror” and inspiration behind the music video in collaboration with Hennessy?** “Mirror” is a very powerful song, so the visuals had to match. We wanted to figure out a way to bring the urban street culture into an elite bourgeois type setting. A way to merge the two and make them one, the same way we merged both worlds in our collaboration with Hennessy.   **How would you describe your fashion sense?** Our style is a lot like our dance, “Twin Style”. It’s everything merged together. Always different but always on point.
