Hailing from San Francisco but now based in Los Angeles, the rising star is here to remind us of that nostalgic 2000’s pop era we all know, love, and miss… bringing us her own version of the genre in 2021. The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and self-taught producer caught the attention of HITCO founder L.A. Reid during a studio session back in 2019, and shortly after signed with the label. Collins is also signed with S2 for publishing, the company owned by famed songwriter Savan Kotecha and Sonny Takhar.  Following the release of her all-star collaboration with Swae Lee on “Hotel Bed,” Collins returns with her newest pop anthem titled “Open Your Mouth.” Premiered today exclusively on _Flaunt_, the self-written record chronicles the story of a past relationship that resulted in a constant state of uncertainty.  Collins explains, “I was super into this guy, but whenever we’d hang out he’d just want to nose touch the whole night. I assumed one of us would have the confidence to kiss each other… but it never happened. Very strange, but he was such a cool person that sadly it was worth it. This gave me the idea to do a song with a double meaning, because he’d disappear for weeks at a time but always come back. His entire vibe was cryptic and closed off that it made trying to pick his brain even more frustrating.” After listening to The Weeknd's _After Hours_ album, one night Collins was playing her guitar at 4am in a similar chord register and the hook came out with a lot of the lyrics. She brought it to her brother Nico's room, and they finished it together while watching the sunrise. “At that point, I vented to him so much about boys that it probably made his brain want to explode,” she adds with a laugh. Collins hopes fans can listen to the record and embrace the gritty chaotic bop that it is. She states, “I want people who get ghosted or are confused about the person they like to jump on their bed and scream along at the top of their lungs!!! Seriously, being able to make music you love about situations that don’t make sense is what makes it make sense at the end of the day.” As Collins continues to roll out singles from her forthcoming debut EP, she has made it clear that she is here to stay as she continues to capture the hearts of pop lovers across the world.
