[Jennifer Denali](https://www.instagram.com/jenniferdenali/) is a powerhouse singer from Brooklyn, whose vocal range defies boundaries. Having been compared to some of music’s greats such as Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Amy Winehouse, the Irish and Puerto Rican artist sings about positivity and overcoming mental battles on a quest to discover self-care and self-love.
Now, she premieres the new visualizer for her single “Sweet Sounds,” exclusively on Flaunt. Teaming up with Grammy-nominated production duo ClickNPress (Alessia Cara, J. Cole), the track is about that longing desire for something that you feel is missing. Jennifer’s music as a whole tells a narrative of one’s journey going from black hole emptiness to breaking through into the light.
Given the oceanic soundscape, “Sweet Sounds" is reminiscent of the sound of a memory: a whisper of someone's voice, or the voice within. Denali states, “To me, it’s getting in touch with myself (filling the void) and also missing certain aspects of who I was when I was feeling lost. The freedom to explore and always come back to yourself is what it means to live.”
For Denali, longing for love makes the most beautiful songs. The meaning behind the line “I can’t be sure I’ll hear from you again” is because life is fragile and emotions are fluid. She states, “we come and go in the snap of a finger. In our container of time, I’ve changed and morphed and hope to experience as much as possible even if that means I come and go like the tide. The sound of the ocean plays underneath the whole track.”
The visualizer depicts Denali in mermaid form, with a timelapse of the sun rising and setting in the background. Her lyrics pour over the sound of the ocean, revealing many hidden messages for healing within the deeper landscape under the surface of the record.
Beyond the music, Jennifer is a model who’s been featured in campaigns for various brands such as Deleon Tequila, Bud Light, Pure Life Iced Tea, and Effen Vodka. She’s currently signed with State Management for Fit Modeling Division.
All in all, "Sweet Sounds" is a melancholic celebration.
