Lessman, a notorious drummer, is known in L.A. for his range of contributions to a variety of projects with jazz, avant garde, and indie pop thematics. Lessman grew up in a suburb of Chicago with no musicians in the immediate family, his musical awareness stemming from playing trombone in the middle school band and listening compulsively to Q101 (“Chicago’s Home for Alternative”). The compositions written by Lessman were crafted during his days studying at the California Institute of the Arts under Wadada Leo Smith, where he met the group of talent who now, 10 years later, play on this _TEETHERS_ EP. The volatile wordless music is an ode to the decomposition of boundaries and vision of new directorial forms. The chaotic and blurred imagery in the video mirrors the intersection of blended sounds featured in the music. The _TEETHERS_ EP will be released February 26 for digital download and streaming.
