[R3hab](https://flaunt.com/content/lay-zhang-amp-r3hab-blend-cultures-together-with-new-remix-boom) is kicking off 2021 on the highest note possible. For his first single of the year, the world-renowned DJ and producer has tapped Italian duo Marnik, best known for their hit records “Bella Ciao" with Steve Aoki, "Children Of A Miracle" with Don Diablo, and "Alone" with KSHMR. Titled [“Candyman,”](https://open.spotify.com/track/1YuqKjgFaxBXjPsmKD2zzc) the lighthearted record sets the tone for 2021 as we all continue to look for the light at the end of the tunnel amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
With “Candyman” being a special song for all artists involved, R3hab reveals he’s been looking forward to collaborating with Marnik since they remixed “All Around The World.” The record connects to the duo’s purest emotions and dreams, in a fantasy world where everything is magical and innocent.
Speaking on the collab, R3hab states, “Me and Marnik wanted to do something fresh. Marnik’s from Italy and I’ve always been a big fan of the Italo disco sound back in the day, when I was just starting to listen to dance music. Our idea was to use the typical Italian offbeat bassline and the synthesizers. Those records are normally between 130 and 140 BPM, but we wanted to change it and flip it to 116 BPM so it feels very slow, strange, interesting, and a bit risky."
