Our lives are intertwined, and for all to win, we must lift each other up. As a firm believer of the saying, “Everyone can win without stepping on each other’s toes,” Shamus Goss, an entrepreneur, hopes to change lives through his nonprofit, the H.E.L.P Foundation.
Born in South Bronx, NY, Shamus is the CEO and founder of Magneto Home Solutions, Major Change Media, and Ecom Titan Pro’s, in addition to the H.E.L.P Foundation USA.
Raised by a single mother and often lacking basic necessities, Shamus has faced adversity. He recalls his mom always telling him that all that would come to pass one day, and when that time comes, he could be anyone or anything he wants to be in his life. This was when he made up his mind that if he ever made it in life, he would undoubtedly help people and create an environment where everyone can win.
Passionate about helping, Shamus founded the H.E.L.P Foundation to help the homeless by providing food and clothing. With a goal of helping others build a bright future, the foundation also provides school supplies to less-advantaged communities.
Among the many barriers to education is a lack of funding. While everyone comes from different backgrounds, education gives everyone a better shot at making their dreams a reality. “Income should never be a barrier to education,” says Shamus.
Interacting with young people, Shamus notes that many of them have mind-blowing ideas that can change the world if given a chance. As an entrepreneur, Shamus understands how daunting it can be, especially trying to convert an idea into a real business. To ensure they give people a shot at a brighter and better future, the H.E.L.P Foundation is looking to launch a young entrepreneur program to help and mentor young entrepreneurs on how to build success.
People often take blessings for granted and what one person considers a necessity may be a luxury to another. Even though everyone faces challenges, for some, they are worse when struggling with them all alone. As a society, it is everyone’s duty to be there for those who need a hand and help out where we can.
Additionally, giving is not about how much but the love that goes into the donation. A simple act of kindness can be very significant to someone. Growing up with a lot of challenges and struggles, Shamus defied all odds to become a success story. However, not everyone can rise above their situations unless someone reaches out to them and gives them a hand. To ensure people don’t have to go through the struggles he did, Shamus is giving hope to the less privileged by helping out where he can.
Every moment there is a person in need, and others have the opportunity to help. Determined to change the lives of as many people as he can, Shamus came up with the H.E.L.P Foundation. Although it is a simple concept, he believes it has had an immense effect on the people of Atlanta.
