One of the most likable figures in dance music, [Teddy Beats](https://www.instagram.com/teddybeatsmusic/) has been busy laying the groundwork for the “chill dance” movement over the recent past. The Baltimore-based artist is breaking the boundaries of genre and developing a style of his own, straddling the fine line between the dance and pop genres for a sound that features the best elements of both worlds. He fondly refers to the music he makes as the “soundtrack to his life,” affirming his commitment to his craft and growth as a creative.
A month ago, the rising star unveiled “Everybody Needs Love” with Jacob Browne, making this his sixth release of the year already. Wasting no time between tracks, Teddy is back with “Alive” featuring Britt Lari, out now on Smash Deep Records, founded by dance music superstars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. “Alive” is Teddy’s third release on the Smash Deep imprint, making him arguably one of the label’s most prominent household names to date.
“I’m always studying music, listening to it, analyzing it, thinking about how I could experiment with it or incorporate it into my own sound and put my own spin on it,” he states. “I legitimately feel like each song is better than the next. And by the time each song is released, there is so much I would do differently. Which I find a really exciting, positive thing. I’ve also learned to trust in the universe and myself. You can’t be scared to do what you love.”
With the release of “Alive” and much more music to come, Teddy is well-prepared to continue growing as an artist and inspiring those around him to break boundaries without fear.
