The suave Bossa Nova rhythms paired with his enthralling voice results in a soundtrack to a car ride by the beach or backyard stargazing this summer. ¿Téo? has also joined forces with the unparalleled WILLOW to create the addicting single within _Sol_ titled “Buzzed”_._ ¿Téo? is also excitingly breaking from the era of at home streaming and has released [tickets](https://www.axs.com/uk/events/405502/-tickets) for his upcoming show at El Rey in Los Angeles on October 1st. _Flaunt_ had the opportunity to chat all things _Sol_ and catch up on the artists latest ventures. * * * **Tell me about _Sol_. What inspired it and what is the message it hopes to convey?** This album is really just a representation of who and what I am. I wanted to give myself the freedom to express the many facets of what makes me the musician/person I am. For this album I wanted to lay a foundation for what’s to come next. **What was the process of creating this album like?** Many months of creating ideas, and scrapping and rebirthing certain songs and concepts over all. While you’re in the process of making something, it’s never fully clear what you’re doing until you start getting into the later phase of it. I enjoyed spending time in different cities (before pandemic) and then during 2020, which was a rough year for us all, finding a way to use that time to my benefit and dive deeper into what it was that I wanted to create. **What are you most excited for in relation to the album drop?** I’m excited to see what people respond to. What they’ll be expecting and what will surprise them. I firstly make music for myself, I have to love and be connected to what I’m making, but I also love creating with my fans and the listener in mind. I’m excited to perform these songs, & also to just let this project go into the world and start working on new ideas. I’ve learned so much through this process that I just wanna start applying all the knowledge and experience towards the new music. I feel like she really elevated and made the song what it is. Her vocals are so warm and present. Outside of music I have a connection with her, as a close friend and sister almost, so translating that into us creating something together only felt right and it happened very organically. **What was it like to work with WILLOW?** Like I said, Willow is literally a sister to me. Jaden, her brother, is my best friend and has been for some time now. So Ive known Willow, and kind of have grown up with her in a way. I can’t believe it took us this long to finally have a song together, but I’m just happy it finally came to fruition and it turned out the way it did. **Has your Colombian upbringing influenced the music you make?** Of course. In every way it has. It’s in my blood and in my earliest memories. The way we speak, our lingo, our approach to life is very playful and warm. I’m very grateful for my upbringing and for the unique experience I’ve had throughout my life. It’s what allows me to make the music the way I do, and to be the person that I am. **Your music has a Bossa Nova/R&B vibe, what made you choose this genre?** I don’t think I chose it, I just gravitated towards it and vice versa. I love music that makes me feel good. I appreciate musicianship and I think the bossa really speaks to my southern American ear, even though I’m not Brazilian. I can and do have so much appreciation and love for their culture and sound. I feel my music also goes outside of these genres at times, but I’m very influenced by them none the less. Unhindered creativity makes me feel invincible. **What are you most excited for, as we're hopefully nearing the end of the pandemic?** To explore more of the world again, perform, and share moments with people. To try to experience life as close to the way we did before this whole thing happened. Except with a new found appreciation. **What can your fans look forward to in this upcoming year?** More music, visuals, some live shows and a couple exciting collabs. A lot to look forward to.
