A new 374-square-foot wine bar and bottle shop opened up in the heart of Echo Park. Owned and operated by local residents Jason Goldman and his partner Christian Stayner, [Tilda](https://tildawine.com/) is now the go-to destination for natural wines.  Located on Echo Park Avenue is stepping away from the norm, paying tribute to the bounty of California and the principles of natural winemaking. The ever-changing menu of wines highlights the diversity of natural winemaking in California, allowing for guests to taste sample wines from multiple sources including Los Angeles based wineries. Curated by the general manager and wine buyer, Carrie Funk, the decision to stay local stands a reflection of the diversity of California and the community.   Outside of the wine and simple lunch, dinner and evening meals, Tilda’s aura is inspired by Paris’s _caves à manger_, informal and intimate gathering places that blur the boundaries between restaurant, wine bar and wine shop. Stayner Architects capitalized on the small spaces to produce various homelike qualities.  Reminiscent of a studio apartment, the idea of Tilda was constructed by the co-owner to feel like, “the unfussy hospitality of being hosted by a wine-loving friend.” Full of custom-built furniture and vintage pieces that Stayner collected over the years from Hans Bergstrom and Louis Kalf come together with Alexander Girard’s ‘Superweave’ textiles and abstract paintings. Tilda’s design was created to pay homage to every person roaming California, past, and present.
