Next month, [Jamie Jones](https://instagram.com/jamiejonesmusic?utm_medium=copy_link) — world renowned Welsh DJ and producer, Hot Creations label boss, and son of Tom Jones — and German house producer [Loco Dice](https://instagram.com/locodiceofc?utm_medium=copy_link) will join forces for cross-continental DJ sets in both Miami and Berlin.
The back-to-back, real time sets are made possible by new tech from Beatpot’s Party Mode — a feature that enables up to 4 DJs to collaborate on real-time sets from different locations — on its streaming service and Microsoft’s Surface tablet. The event is the first in a new series by Beatport and Microsoft called Originals², which will feature continent-spanning collaborations and a special Academy for up-and-coming DJs.
Everything kicks off on December 2nd with Jamie Jones spinning during Art Basel in Miami Beach and with Loco Dice on the tables in Berlin. Art Basel attendees and Berliners can party in-person, while fans from afar can tune in virtually to watch the show.
Later in December, Beatport and Microsoft will launch the inaugural Originals² Academy, a two-day educational event for select creators, simultaneously hosted in Miami’s and Berlin’s top recording studios, once again linked via Microsoft technology. Aspiring DJs and producers can attend the event for a deeper dive into new techniques and technologies. It will also be livestreamed for those of us not lucky enough to go.
Originals² is shaping up to be the essential global masterclass for would-be DJs.
