As the Director of Special Projects for the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, Todd Lerew has long been immersed in the art of curating dynamic exhibitions and programs for the Los Angeles Public Library. Now, he's turning that same keen curatorial eye to the city's most extraordinary yet sometimes hidden treasures — its museums. In Also On View: Unique and Unexpected Museums of Greater Los Angeles, Lerew invites readers on a journey through LA’s most captivating, often overlooked collections from the culturally rich Garifuna Museum to the delightfully niche Streetlight Museum. “After spending the better part of a decade seeking out hundreds of local museums large and small, I am grateful for this opportunity to turn a private obsession into a public celebration of these incredible institutions,” Lerew says. “It has been an honor to work with the stewards and caretakers of the 64 featured museums to share stories of the collections and communities that they are dedicated to helping preserve.”

Also step into a visual journey like no other — not only by visiting the museums themselves but also through the lens of renowned photographer Ryan Schude, as featured in Also On View.
