On Saturday, November 11th, the metamorphosis of a street in Hollywood occurred in celebration of the decade-long attire by Ashton Michael. His latest collection, “Pung-Tsugi,’ showcased an array of garments, each utterly encapsulated by a nature of endless caliber and mastery. The luxe-punk is unapologetic in its 36 striking appearances; composed of 3-D printed oversized safety pins, piercings and studs of 24k gold and silver, distressed metallic knitwear, Kintsugi style denims, miniskirts in Mongolian fur, all of which are coated in Michael’s signature shades, black, gold, and silver.
Influenced by the Japanese art form Kintsugi, Michael fuses its philosophy of embracing and accentuating flaws with a series embodied by punk bondage; promising a collection that calls upon a union between the universes of delicacy and triumph.
Notable guests that were in the presence of Michael’s love letter to Los Angeles included Avril Lavigne, Jonathan Davis (KORN), Mod Sun, Siiickbrain, Dana Denata, and many more.
