BBL Originals specializes in Baile Funk, the Brazilian electronic music genre that emerged from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro in the 1970s. With Baile Funk as their core, BBL Originals is making waves globally while staying true to their cultural roots.
Sonically bold and visually vibrant.
Through their dance parties, art showcases, and even music label services, BBL Originals has created a bold platform to celebrate and share Brazilian culture worldwide. With a sonically bold sound and vibrantly immersive visuals, BBL Originals has captured the essence of Brazil’s creative spirit. Since starting as a Baile Funk party in Los Angeles in 2023, the collective has consistently attracted top-tier artists drawn to the authenticity and energy of the project.
Andrey Frazão, the founder and creative director of BBL Originals, is a multimedia artist with a deep passion for fashion and the audio-visual arts. Originally from Brazil, Andrey channels his pride in his heritage into everything he creates, to bring Brazilian culture to the world stage. Under his leadership, BBL Originals has become a vibrant movement that fuses art, music, and fashion, offering immersive experiences that embody the unique energy of Brazil.
The Beginning of Something Bigger
BBL Originals’ journey began with a bang. Their first event, held on March 31, 2023, had a collaboration with Arielle Macedo, the choreographer behind some of Anitta’s most iconic performances. Arielle’s involvement in a dance visual for the event set the tone for what BBL Originals could become.
“Arielle believed in the potential of our project,” Frazão said, “and participated in a dance visual we shot to promote our debut event.”
Lucas Francisco, the co-founder and producer of BBL Originals, is a Brazilian visual artist driven by his passion for connecting people through art and music. He was the one who came up with the name for the brand. “I had this idea… I wanted something provocative, something that would spark curiosity and make people want to discover what we’re really about,” he explained.
BBL Originals’ Most Notable Events
This collaboration grew into one of BBL Originals’ most successful events—hosting the after-party for Anitta’s Baile Funk Experience show in Los Angeles. As the biggest Brazilian artist on the international stage, she has spread Baile Funk culture worldwide. As part of the event, BBL Originals featured Lukas Oliveira, Anitta’s tour DJ, to bring the Baile Funk experience to their crowd.
They’ve also hosted other standout events, like a party featuring Grag Queen—host of Drag Race Brasil and winner of Queen of the Universe—along with performances from Izzy, a Brazilian singer known for hits like "Diabla" and "La Oscuridad." BBL Originals’ events continue to drive the Brazilian cultural movement forward, combining music and fashion in unique and unforgettable ways.
"From the start, we’ve worked with incredible talent," says Frazão. "Our goal has always been to create immersive experiences that highlight the uniqueness of Brazilian culture.”
The Future of the BBL Originals
Looking ahead, BBL Originals is set on expanding beyond Los Angeles, with a mission to share Brazilian culture and Baile Funk roots with new audiences. Through music, dance, and visual art, they aim to tell their story and connect with communities around the world.
"Through everything we do—whether it’s music, visuals, or events—we express not just our passion, but our deep pride in our Brazilian identity," Frazão says. "BBL Originals is about staying connected to our roots while finding new ways to celebrate and share our culture with the world."
