Soft vocals, the light strumming of an acoustic guitar, and a whimsical kind of production can only mean one thing – a new track from Beabadoobee. Her newest single, “the way things go” tells the familiar story of breaking up with a significant other. From forgetting how to pronounce their name to feeling like the bigger guy, she relinquishes all ties to someone she once loved. The rather melancholy lyrics lead the listener to accept “the way things go” alongside Bea and her pensive sounding guitar.

In the accompanying video, Bea appears as a ballerina alongside paintings and other antiques of sorts. But she isn’t wearing the white leotard and tutu as every other dancer, she is instead captured wearing the same outfit in black. With similar motifs and references tothe fable of the black swan, several dance sequences take place and “the way things go” ends with a smiling Bea, finally ready to let go of a past love. Catch this newest single on her headlining tour this summer all over the United States.
