Emerging from Lithonia, Georgia, with a voice as raw as his experiences, BLO (@lilhot_5) is creating his own lane in hip-hop. He’s the most authentic he’s ever been in his deeply personal new album, Soon. The project is a 19-track testament to resilience, growth, and the belief in a brighter future.

For BLO, music isn’t just an outlet – it’s a lifeline. Raised amidst Atlanta’s rich musical culture, his sound is steeped in the culture that shaped him. “I always loved music, but Atlanta showed me a different side of it,” BLO says, reflecting on how the city’s scene pushed him to explore the depths of his artistry. It’s a passion first nurtured by his late uncle and later honed through life’s challenges.

Those challenges include time spent incarcerated, an experience that could have broken him but instead became essential for his creativity. “Being incarcerated gave me the drive to go harder with my music,” he shares. “It opened my eyes and made me look at the streets differently.” Remarkably, his connection with fans only grew stronger during this time, fueling his determination to create.

That journey of transformation lies at the heart of Soon. The album title carries weight both personal and symbolic. “A change is SOON to come,” BLO explains, summing up a theme that resonates throughout the project. One standout track, “Hole Again,” talks about the emotional toll of 90 days in solitary confinement, dealing with loss and isolation. Yet, even in the darkest moments, BLO’s music carries an undercurrent of hope.

“I’m not the person I was before I started music,” he admits. “Hopefully, my hurt and pain can show the next person to keep going. It all gets better.”

BLO’s ability to turn pain into purpose is one reason his music resonates so deeply. His conversational approach to songwriting—what he calls “just talking with my people”—makes his music feel personal. Like a personal conversation with a trusted friend. And while his lyrics are rooted in his own experiences, they speak to universal themes of struggle and perseverance.

With Soon, BLO is setting the stage for his next chapter. “Personally, I hope to accomplish peace of mind and freedom. Musically, I just want to keep growing,” he says. That growth is already evident in his work, which blends raw honesty with a powerful energy that keeps fans coming back.

As BLO continues to rise, his message remains simple yet profound: transformation is possible, and better days are always just around the corner.

Soon is streaming now on all platforms. Listen to it HERE.
