Luxury Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta has announced their Pre-Spring 2023 collection, launching officially in stores November 10th, 2022. In tune with the brand’s effort to constantly create and recreate, the collection includes a mix of different fabrics, prints, textures, and silhouettes. The collection also includes a new spin on the iconic cassette bag—The Foulard Cassette.

The body of the bag is crafted in woven paper calf, embellished with the unique foulard technique, bringing forth a new chic and textured look to the pre-existing styles of the Cassette family. The foulard technique reimagines Bottega Veneta’s intrecciato. Ahead of the weaving process, the paper calf leather strips, called fettucce, are ruched. In Pre-Spring 2023, Creative Director Matthieu Blazy applied intrecciato foulard to the iconic Cassette for the first time, reimagining the bag with added volume and a subtle shine. The pinch effect of intrecciato foulard also creates a sense of movement, a concept at the center of Blazy’s inspiration. ‘Craft in motion’ is an integral part of Blazy’s vision for Bottega Veneta.
