Meet Bria The Artist, the multitalented Bri-Dimensional* from Westchester, NY. At 29 years old, she is a singer, songwriter, producer, composer, painter, sketch artist, and poet with an unstoppable creative spirit. She embarked on a thrilling East Coast tour, hitting up ten cities, including Toronto, and concluding in Dubai, mesmerizing audiences with her exceptional talent and unwavering passion. To date, she has released two albums - Moon Swings and Jaded - showcasing her remarkable skills. Notably, Jaded was entirely self-produced. Bria has also gained recognition from Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who added her singles "People Fall In Love In Heaven" and "Quarantine & Chill" to his personal playlist. During the pandemic, her music caught the attention of industry leaders and DJs flooding the social media app, Clubhouse.

The nighttime flair of Bria The Artist draws the listener into this vast, emotionally charged space with “Y2k”, one of her most popular drops to date. Bass carries much of the song along, for the elegant touch gives it a funky flair. Some of the low-end attention, alongside the clever usage of echo and delay, also touches upon the mysticism of dub reggae. Her vocalizations add to the beauty of the piece. She keeps the arrangement minimal, adding weight to every single sound.

Wisps of sound enter the fray at first. Gradually the rest of the arrangement makes its presence felt. She ensures that patience and delicacy are of the essence. The balancing act she embarks upon feels riveting to behold. Fully embracing the idea that quiet music draws an audience more than blaring loud sounds, she barely raises her voice throughout the journey. Everything has origami to it, with the elements folding and unfolding into each other. Allowing the piece to have this life behind it further emphasizes the exploration of relationships her lyrics focus upon. Off in the periphery of the arrangement, the shoegaze aspects flutter about. The song resides within these two competing ideas – to get closer to someone or to remain unknowable. She does not answer this question either, merely posits it as the song unfurls, getting increasingly amorphous to the finale.

Y2k” shows the delicacy of Bria The Artist in crafting a realm with this organic spirit that feels refreshingly honest and deeply personal. Listen to the artist`s latest drop, “Cocoa,” OUT NOW.
