Yet for those craving movement and play, Casa Palma also features pickleball courts, water volleyball, and spacious lawns perfect for gatherings and events.
Guests can unwind in air-conditioned rooms and private bungalows, each styled with a blend of contemporary design and classic Palm Springs allure. The resort’s walkable location gives travelers direct access to the city’s celebrated restaurants, shops, and cultural landmarks, allowing for a truly immersive desert experience.
At the helm of this new chapter are Ryan and Rochelle Jaleh, the husband-and-wife duo whose creative vision and deep respect for the property’s storied past are shaping something truly special. In this conversation, the Jalehs reflect on their journey with Casa Palma—from first glimpses of the property’s hidden potential to the dreams they’re bringing to life through design, wellness, and community.
“We are thrilled to open our doors and offer a unique oasis where guests can unwind and indulge in the vibrant culture of Palm Springs,” Ryan Jaleh shares. “Our resort is designed to provide a perfect balance of relaxation and recreation, catering to the diverse interests of our guests.”
Here, Ryan and Rochelle Jaleh speak with intention and insight about what it means to create an oasis in today’s world—one where history, hospitality, and a forward-thinking approach to well-being come together under the golden skies of Palm Springs.
Why do you think Palm Springs cultivates such an abundant environment for rest and relaxation?
You can always count on Palm Springs to deliver amazing weather. With about 350 days of sunshine per year, it's literally one of the sunniest places on Earth, and the winters are super mild with most days reaching at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This is what drove our parents to bring us out to Palm Springs when we were little kids, and I think it's the reason why Palm Springs continues to be recognized as a top leisure and wellness destination.
What drew you to Casa Palma? Do you remember the moment you decided to commit to the property?
The property was stunning. Of course, it was neglected and forgotten, but the bones were just beautiful and being as familiar as we are with the area we knew there were very few properties like this in Palm Springs with multiple pools and lawns and lush beautiful grounds with tennis and pickleball courts and citrus trees, and there was something that felt just so right to us about it. Like the fact the main pool has a built-in water volleyball net and we just felt that was rad to have all this beauty and also all this potential for fun physical activation this close to Downtown Palm Springs.
How does Casa Palma’s history as a property contribute to the hotel’s character today? And on the otherside, how are you starting your own legacy at Casa Palma?
Casa Palma is rich in history. The hotel was originally owned by one of the biggest stars in Hollywood in the late 1930s and 40's ,named Errol Flynn (known as the first "Robin Hood"), and his wife Lili Damita, who was also a world-famous actress in her own right. We continue to learn more about the heritage of the property every day, but ultimately we know that this property was built for people who love beautiful environments and love to have a good time and fill their days with activity and connection, and that is something that is engrained in the character of the property that we will cultivate and steward into its next era.
What elevates a space from a hotel to its own oasis, and how are you integrating those elements into your work at Casa Palma?
We are witnessing this mega-trend of health consciousness, and you are seeing this manifest itself in different ways such as people eating healthier, limiting alcohol, lifting heavy weights, playing sports, engaging in saunas and plunges, and the list goes on, but the point is that people want to do more than just sit by a pool and get hammered all day. And don't get me wrong, sometimes getting toasty all day by the pool is all we want to do and there's no better and more beautiful place in Palm Springs to do it than Casa Palma, but there's also so much more, and more ways for people to feel healthy and connected.
What has the process of choosing flavors and curating a menu for soon-to-be-opening Chiquita been like?
So fun! One of our inspirations for the hotel is the Mediterranean coastline - there is something so magical about the Mediterranean lifestyle and diet, and we want to bring some of that magic to Casa Palma, with a clean, Mediterranean-inspired menu.
You two are husband and wife, and have also worked together at Archive Rentals for years — how has your relationship as business partners evolved over time, particularly with the advent of Casa Palma?
The success with our businesses has really come as a result of our strong relationship and not the other way around. We've always focused on our relationship first because that is the most important step in being aligned as individuals and business partners. Stress definitely happens when you are running multiple multi-million dollar businesses on top of young kids, but there is no one who will be there for you than a spouse who loves and respects you - you get through the tough times together which is better than going through them alone and you are so powerful because over time you learn each other's core strengths and weaknesses and delegate tasks accordingly.
