Since the Italian brand’s establishment in 1978, Diesel has had a well-earned reputation for having a distinctive rebellious style with provocative advertisement campaigns to match.  On Tuesday, the fashion house added another page to the luxury marketing brand’s creative playbook by naming Måneskin’s Damiano David as Diesel’s first-ever global male ambassador.

Like any good rockstar, Damiano is partial to the punk-inspired aura that carries his attitude on stage. Since becoming a world phenomenon at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, the lead vocalist has conquered the attention of the world, bringing back the wild and androgynous aesthetic of rock culture. His collection of dangle earrings combined with the black eyeliner he wears ever-so-proudly make him the ideal Diesal man, capturing the brand’s defining spirit of nonconformity, freedom, and inclusivity.

Back in May, Damiano and Diesel teased their partnership at the 2024 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala, where Damiano was dressed by Glenn Martens wearing a fully custom Diesel look. In his role as Diesel's male ambassador, Damiano plans to further Disel’s relentless pursuit of authenticity through music, representing a new code for masculinity and unbridled gender boundaries. The partnership signals the start of an exciting creative alliance, including a forthcoming genderless capsule collection co-designed by Damiano himself and Glenn Martens, launching later this year.
