Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri sees every collection as an occasion to reflect on the function of clothing, evaluating the role it plays in relation to the body and to fashion. For the Autumn-Winter 2023-2024 collection, the creative director delves into the history of Dior by revisiting the 1950s for its ready-to-wear line, exploring French style in three different personas: Catherine Dior, Édith Piaf, and Juliette Gréco. Floral motifs are interwoven into metallic thread that tricks the eye into seeing life in the fabric, canceling out contours and alluding abstraction. The Autumn Winter line is made up of primary colors such as blue, topaz yellow, ruby, emerald, and shades of tartan cover straight skirts, coats, and jackets with embroidered spurts of lights. Honoring the undefined and ever evolving image of femininity, this line proposes emotional paths to the upcoming generation of women shaping our future.
