Dominik Braz Bittrich has seamlessly blended art, fashion, and film throughout his career, creating a unique space for himself as a multidisciplinary creative. Raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, his artistic journey has taken him across the globe. Fluent in German, English, and Spanish, Dominik moved to Berlin in 2017, where he quickly established a reputation for his versatility across music videos, commercials, and narrative film. Over the past seven years, he has honed a distinctive visual approach, paired with a deep commitment to creative innovation and artistic exploration.
Dominik’s path began in the worlds of creative directing and music composition, disciplines that deepened his understanding of storytelling from multiple perspectives. During 2020’s global pandemic, Dominik shifted his focus to editing, refining his ambitions and opening the doors to new opportunities on a global scale. His ability to manage multifaceted projects led to successful commercial films for tech giants Amazon, Google, Microsoft, luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, fashion houses such as Cartier and Yves Saint Laurent, and sportswear brand and culture behemoth Nike
One of Dominik’s standout projects this year is his work on Magda Butrym’s Autumn/Winter 2024 collection. This project enabled him to delve deeper into high fashion, where his minimalist yet powerful approach was applied to create a visually striking film. “The footage was some of the most beautiful I’ve ever worked with,” Dominik reflects. “Each frame was crafted with such attention to detail that it was incredibly rewarding to bring it all together.” The project was all about highlighting the brand’s elegance and sophistication.
In his fashion projects, Dominik strikes a balance between visual narrative and the emotional undertones of the collection. “Fashion films are about creating a mood, capturing the essence of the collection in a way that feels authentic.” For each project, he immerses himself in the brand’s history and identity, drawing on these elements to guide the rhythm and emotional tone.
For Magda Butrym’s film, directed by Vitali Gelwich and shot by Tobias Blickle, Dominik brought this vision to life. The film serves as an ode to modern femininity, blending timeless elegance with a contemporary edge. Themes of freedom and individuality are central to the collection, and Dominik’s role was to bring these ideas to the forefront through a carefully timed edit. “We wanted to let the garments shine while maintaining a balance between simplicity and depth,” he notes. Dominik also composed the music and soundscape for the film, tying everything together. “Sound is such a big part of storytelling for me,” he shares. “Bringing the visuals and music into harmony completed the project in a truly rewarding way.”
Looking ahead, Dominik is eager to expand his work internationally, continuing to evolve with every new challenge. “There’s so much potential in collaborating with global teams,” he explains. “I’m excited to explore new markets and tackle projects that allow for continual growth as an artist.”
