In the vibrant world of tattoo artistry, where creativity knows no bounds, one artist has emerged with a unique approach that sets him apart from his competitors. With a specialization in micro-realism and black and gray tattoos, the LA-based Fernando Morales Unda has carved a singular path for himself, captivating the hearts of art enthusiasts and tattoo lovers alike.

Through his unconventional approach and tireless commitment to creating elegant and intricate pieces, he has established himself as a true artist in the world of tattooing.

Fernando's journey begins with a deep passion for the art form. His dedication to his craft is evident in his ability to create stunningly detailed tattoos that capture the essence of his clients' desires.

"Unlike many artists who solely rely on single needles, I like to use a combination of traditional and single needles and larger needle groupings. Although it's an unusual method, it allows for much better healing," he explains.

What sets Fernando apart from his competitors, in particular, is his deep understanding of his clients' motivations. During the consultation process, he delves into the essence of their tattoo, questioning their motivations and the significance behind the elements of their chosen design.

Armed with a wealth of references and a keen eye for composition, he meticulously pieces together the elements that best suit the client's anatomy and preferences. Drawing inspiration from micro-realism and geometric designs, Fernando crafts intricate motifs that are visually appealing and tailored to each individual.

On top of that, unlike most artists who showcase their designs beforehand, Fernando reveals his own on the day of the tattoo session. By doing that, he creates an environment where clients can trust his artistic vision, allowing for an organic and intuitive process that brings the design to life with remarkable precision.

Fernando's commitment to excellence extends beyond the design itself. His dedication to quality is clear from the fact that he mixes the ink himself. "I add drops of gray ink to the black wash. This allows the gray to heal better, so what you see on the day of the session is pretty much how it will heal," he explains, adding that highlighting tattoos with white ink will achieve much better contrast and elevate the overall aesthetic.

As Fernando continues establishing himself as a prominent figure in the tattooing world, his recent move Denmark to Los Angeles has opened up new opportunities for his artistry to flourish. His approach and unwavering dedication have quickly gained him recognition and helped him build a rock-solid reputation. On top of having his own corner in the renowned Ganga studio, Fernando has also experienced working as a guest artist in some of the world’s best studios, including several in Europe

"I've always wanted to have my style and my own image, and the opportunity to travel around the world made that possible. My schedule now fills up quickly. I never imagined I'd be able to achieve such tremendous success. I'm beyond happy and grateful for it," Fernando says.

In a world where tattoos have become a medium of self-expression, Fernando shines as a beacon of creativity, pushing boundaries and redefining what it means to create an enduring work of art on the human canvas. Through his art, he reminds the world that tattoos are not just ink on the skin but powerful symbols that tell stories and evoke a tapestry of emotions.

"Naturally, I hope that my work will be recognized more and more, but it's equally important for me to try and change some people's attitudes toward tattoos. There's still prejudice about this line of work around the world, and I'm hoping that through exposure, my colleagues and I can show people the true beauty behind the art."
