Streetwear brand FLAN and sportswear brand FILA collaborating on a sneaker drop is a natural pairing—but their inspiration is a little more irregular. The limited-edition sneaker they’re serving up is an ode to French toast. The color palette, and the order of the colors, correspond to each element of the breakfast staple: the white soles being the plate, tan detailing representing the bread, red and green eyestays for strawberries, and the yellow tongue being the butter. Buyers can choose a ‘topping’ to their taste with customizable shoelaces—red strawberries, yellow butter, or white whipped cream. The heel features a small French toast illustration, and if the thought of the food makes wearers hungry, there’s also a French toast and strawberries recipe printed in the sock liner. Only 100 pairs are up for grabs, and they can be purchased on the FLAN site.
