With California deep in her eyes, pop-rock singer/songwriter Goldie Vargas is more like the Platonic ideal of the Cali troubadour-poetess than anything else, and why wouldn't she?  Born and raised in L.A. Goldie somewhat follows in the footsteps of her model and professional dancer mom as well as her artistic grandmother; she began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and has been cultivating that free-spirited melodic aura early on.

Goldie's latest song is called "same mistakes", a wonderful and dreamy but somewhat mournful ballad composed of three basic elements working together at their most beautiful: First, we have the steely-warm sound of the guitar, which no doubt comes in to serve the folkish salt-of-the-earth charm inherent to Goldie's aura. Following the guitar are the vocals, which are as soft-downy and angelical as long-time listeners have come to expect; a kind of crisp, and earnest sentimentalism that feels well-earned and even necessary. The third and final element here is much more subtle and even hard to notice at first, and it comes down mostly to ethereal elements sprinkled throughout the track to provide a melodic 'oomph' to the song's highly atmospheric and dramatic lyricism.

At age 14, she fell in with some schoolmates in her first band by acting as their songwriter, and a bit later when she was 16, she started writing for herself, gaining a huge boost of skill and confidence because by age 18 she was working with producers and other songwriters. When she graduated from high school, Goldie began recording her music at a local studio. She has since been working and creating with producer Adam Gurr, with her latest EP, “Golden”, showcasing their partnership.

Stylistically, Goldie’s musical influences include artists such as Stevie Nicks, Harry Styles, and Adele. She looks up to producers and songwriters such as Jeff Bhasker, Kid Harpoon, Tyler Johnson, Jesse Rutherford, and Amy Allen, and one day hopes to collaborate on a project with them.
