Lanvin showcased their Winter 2023 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The collection, designed by Bruno Sialelli, was inspired by the joy of making things, of discovery and rediscovery. Evocations from eras from the 1980’s, the 1940’s, even as far back as the renaissance and the medieval era are present, periods Jeanne Lanvin was inspired by. The pieces also pull inspiration from Lanvin herself, making old and classic things and ideas new again.
The couture heart of Lanvin pulses through modern craft in handmade embroideries, exclusively woven fabrics and master tailoring. Skill, expertise, and joy are seen in the making, like a bouclé tweed resembles astrakhan with twisted yarns in shades of guava and bubblegum, a technicolor brilliance mirrored throughout the palette in rich shades of green, lipstick red and golden neutrals. Accessories transmit craftsmanship with a streamlined modernity, with the Concerto handbag being refreshed, and shoe silhouettes blur athletic and formal distinctions. The collection is a rediscovery of French elegance and exuberance, the very soul of Lanvin.
