Currently based in Los Angeles and working on developing several projects, Huang's dedication to storytelling is driven by her creative vision and unique perspective on the world. In addition, she believes that the stories we tell can have a powerful impact on our society. Huang is always open about the motivation behind her work: she wants to captivate audiences and then inspire them to push for positive change.

Huang's short films, including Mei Mei, The Coin, The Flower of the Future, and the documentary Xi Xi, have been recognized with major awards at numerous film festivals, both nationally and internationally. In addition, her work has been acknowledged with awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Documentary Director (nominee), and selection for the Oscar Grand Award for Short Film.

With extensive experience in the production of both commercial and independent films in China and the United States, Huang has also worked at Starlight Media, a Hollywood film financing company that has produced and invested in several successful films, including Marshall, Midway, and Crazy Rich Asians.

“I have had the privilege of working with Starlight Media and had the opportunity to work with and alongside top-ranking producers, directors, and agents,” says Lili. According to industry reports, Starlight Media has established a solid reputation for producing high-quality films that have been well-received by audiences worldwide. “While working at Starlight, I had the chance to meet and work with notable figures in the industry, such as Stan Lee, director Roland Emmerich, James Wong, etc. Although I gave up a great opportunity to pursue my own filmmaking dreams with creativities, my experience at Starlight was invaluable and allowed me to gain insights and learn from some of the best in the business,” Lili explains.

One of her latest projects is the documentary Maverick Women (You&Me), which explores the world of "Single Moms by Choice" living in different countries. The film offers a uniquely female perspective on family structures created by single women who have children through IVF technology and is a testament to Huang's dedication to telling important stories and her commitment to creating meaningful impact through her work.

Collaboration is essential to the filmmaking process, and Huang recognizes this. As a result, she has worked with a wide range of talented individuals to bring her creative vision to life. These pairings have been instrumental in the success of her films. Huang's success in the film industry serves as an inspiration to aspiring filmmakers worldwide. That journey began with Huang earning a Master of Fine Arts in Film Directing from Shanghai Theatre Academy, one of China's top three film and art schools. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts in Film and Media Production from the New York Film Academy and a Global MBA in Business Management from KEDGE Business School.

Since then, Lili Huang has become a true maverick in the film industry, known for her visionary storytelling and commitment to highlighting important social issues.
