Far from her native Germany (where she reigned as Miss Germany in 2018), Maren Tschinkel is thriving in New York City. As an international fashion model and host of a wellness-focused podcast, Maren has mastered the art of balance—navigating the high-energy demands of her career while staying grounded through her passion for holistic health. Maren moved to New York City from her native Germany. Far from the stereotypical image of a party-girl model, Maren is serious about holistic health and well-being. She credits her self-care routine with her glowing goods looks. Here she describes a recent dy in the city. 

Movement is a nonnegotiable for Maren. She always begins with a light breakfast before heading out into the city. Whether she is beginning with a yoga class or running around her neighborhood, Maren likes to get her movement in first thing to set the tone for the day.

“I believe starting my day with movement keeps my body energized and my mind clear for whatever challenges the day may bring,” Maren says, pausing briefly to sip her water after an early morning  yoga session.

For Maren, movement isn’t just a way to stay fit for the camera—it’s a fundamental part of her mental health regimen. She credits regular exercise with helping her stay focused and present, no matter how demanding her schedule becomes. Whether she’s about to walk a runway or attend a photoshoot, she finds that beginning the day with a workout ensures she’s centered, prepared, and confident.

“My work can take me in many directions on any given day. I might have a photo shoot or an interview for my podcast or a runway show,” she explains. “I like to start my day with food and exercise to help me have energy for whatever the day brings.”

When she is not working, Maren makes her way to one of her favorite spots in New York: Central Park. For someone who grew up close to nature, the park is her personal oasis—a place where she can reconnect with the serenity of the outdoors. 

“Being in Central Park reminds me of home, where I grew up close to nature. It’s a perfect escape from the city’s rush,” she shares. “I miss the beauty of Germany and I need to spend time with nature to bring me into alignment.”

On her way to Central Park, she often stops to buy apples for the horses. While she might walk or jog in the park, stopping to feed the ducks at the pond or admire the horses near the carriage rides is always a priority. 

“I feel like the horses remember me, or maybe just my apples,” she says with a laugh.

Spending time in the park is her way of grounding herself in the midst of a city defined by its skyscrapers and constant movement. For Maren, being in Central Park is an opportunity to clear her head, breathe deeply, and appreciate the beauty of her surroundings.

Maren is meticulous about her food choices, prioritizing clean, organic ingredients that make her feel good inside and out.

“I was raised in a house that only had organic, healthy food choices. McDonald’s was not something my parents would offer us,” Maren says. “Now it is second nature to me to choose healthy food that nourishes me.”

When she is not working, afternoons are Maren’s time for self-care. She might meditate for 15 minutes, practice deep breathing exercises, or spend time reading books on health and wellness. Whether it’s learning more about the benefits of stem cells or the latest breakthroughs in nutrition, Maren’s free afternoons are her opportunity to invest in her own growth and discover new topics for her podcast, “Health Hacks.”

“For me, beauty is not about the latest fashions. Beauty radiates from the inside. When I feel good mentally, move my body, and fuel it with great nutrition, I look and feel great. I have seen people make destructive choices to stay thin in this business. That doesn’t work for me,” she asserts. 

As the evening approaches, Maren shifts gears into relaxation mode. Her evenings are a time for winding down, typically with a light homemade dinner. She enjoys cooking with fresh ingredients and sharing it with friends.

Maren says, “Spending time with friends keeps me centered. Any stress of the day can be laughed away. .”

The move from Germany to NYC almost two years ago was stressful, and Maren has created habits that make her feel and look great. Far from the typical model, she is focused on holistic and healthy living. So while she may live in the city that never sleeps, Maren turns in early for optimal rest.

For Maren Tschinkel, the balance between her fast-paced modeling career and her health-conscious lifestyle is not just a choice—it’s a necessity. Whether she’s walking the runway or walking in Central Park, her commitment to wellness shines through every aspect of her day. It’s this blend of focus, discipline, and self-care that allows her to excel in one of the most competitive industries in the world while staying true to her personal values.

“Finding balance is key,” she reflects. “It’s about knowing when to push yourself and when to give yourself the space to recharge.”
