On April 13, the eccentric luxury brand Marni hosted a buoyant gathering at their Los Angeles store to celebrate the launch of their brand collaboration with the lifestyle-focused No Vacancy Inn. The celebration was a rare and beautiful culmination of people that came together to enjoy the sublime treat of listening to Yussef Dayes and their phenomenal live jazz performance, an occasion that was made possible with the help of Marni Jam. Marni Jam is an extension of Marni itself, acting as a integrative tool that creates space for inspired entities to gather, enjoy, and create community, and with No Vacany Inn, was able to foster a growing community of artists, musicians, athletes, and fashion friends alike. Wizkid, Teyana Taylor, Earl Sweatshirt, Karrueche, Serge Ibaka, Dashawn Jordan, and Salem Mitchell joined the party in support of the newfound partnership, including No Vacany Inn co-founders Acyde and Brock Korsen.  

Both the collaboration and celebratory event took Marni’s creative identity of expressing individuality through color, shape, and texture and No Vacany Inn’s ideaology of friendship and creation, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere to ring in the summer season. MARNI x NO VACANCY INN introduce men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and footwear, with exclusive prints, overlayed patchworks and fluid silhouettes to propell the soul and mind towards a high summer full of sound. 

Matching bowling shirts and shorts, below-the-knee dresses twisted at the waist and one piece swimsuits feature a psychedelia of stars, fish, and other nature-inspired elements, while bold brushstrokes transpose Marni’s colorful codes onto hoodies and shorts. Painted palm trees and clouds appear on baggy denim, mini-skirts and jumpsuits; lightweight knitted sweaters, cardigans and dresses shape textures reminiscent of rainbows, while crocheted bikini tops, combined with matching shorts, reflect a 70’s nostalgia.

The capsule explores a reinvented initiative with Marni’s signature bags and accessories, with the ‘Venice’ mini bucket bags, and ‘Marcel’ bags in raffia with frayed rope handles underscored by contrasting leather trims, alongside a series of totes and pouch bags featuring elements that reverberate with a marine theme, which are offered with matching beach towels.
