Olivia Arben is a British supermodel who has had an illustrious career in the fashion world. Over the course of her time in the spotlight, she’s been a fashion model, British Heart Foundation Ambassador alongside the Duchess of York, and ambassador for British Fashion for the British Parliamentary Society with the late Vivienne Westwood. Her top-model popularity extends to her online presence, where she is followed by 2.2 million followers on Instagram. Her newest accomplishment is as a collaborator with a renowned shoe designer.
“I have collaborated with Terry de Havilland on a 6-piece shoe collection (Liquid Gold). It is my second collection launch with Terry de Havilland,” Arben says.
Arben’s career started at the young age of fifteen. With dark blonde hair and a vintage rock and roll veneer to her appearance and fashion choices, she’s been compared with fashion icons Claudia Schiffer and Brigit Bardot. Her glamorous yet rebellious style has resulted in her fronting campaigns for various brands, including Cartier, Steve Madden, Juicy Couture, and more. She has also appeared on the pages of Maxim, Vogue Italia, and Esquire. Her success in front of the camera has led to her being called a “British Bombshell” by Esquire and Maxim.
With her vibrant and bold retro style, Arben was a natural fit for a collaboration with Terry de Havilland.
Terry de Havilland started his career in the 1970s and was well-known for his MARGAUX wedge and ZIA Block heel. These iconic shoe styles are often imitated but never match the original's iconic glam rock look. Though the famous designer passed away in 2019, he was deeply involved with the designs of his shoes until 2015.
With her alluring, retro-rock look, Arben is a natural fit with the 1970s aesthetic. She has not only modeled for the brand but also worked behind the scenes with the team, creating designs for the collaborative collections. Arben’s knowledge of fashion isn’t only rooted in her modeling career. She attended the London College of Fashion, where she focused on lingerie and swimwear design.
The collection’s beautiful glam rock-inspired looks are a reflection of the vintage 70’s style of both Olivia Arben and Terry De Havilland. The first collaboration with Terry De Havilland was the Olivia Arben x Terry de Havilland Edit in October 2022. The second collection, Liquid Gold | Olivia Arben Collection, is now live on the Terry De Havilland website. The newest collaborative collection features the classic block heel style and shiny metallics for which De Havilland is well-known. The collection also showcases shiny black leather and metallic gold in most designs. The shoes also have fun design elements like lightning bolts and stylish color-blocking. This style is exemplified in the knee-high black Alex boots with a gold lightning bolt zig-zagging down the side. There is also a fun mix of textures, including snakeskin and glossy leather. The glittery Lena Black Galaxy platform heels are the perfect party shoe.
“Having studied fashion, I value what goes in behind the scenes as much as what happens in front of the camera and this perspective allowed me to put a unique touch on the collaboration,” Arben explains.
