You flaunt your unevenness, boldened by a bottle of Späti champagne that quenches your thirst for moving into the morning after. The residue of a golden halo from a night well spent signals the arrival of the next. It’s the season of sun in Berlin, and new and old begin to weave together tight as metallic fabric and gloss-sealed lips.
In the face of uncertain times, Swiss-born Ottolinger designers Cosima Gadient and Christa Bösch say the best strategy is to buckle up and stay focused. The Resort 2025 collection is inspired by the moving hues of day to night, from feeling free on a midsummer dream to recognizing the beauty when things fall apart. Keeping the collection close to home, the lookbook was shot on the street in front of Ottolinger’s Berlin studio and an abandoned airfield behind. A nod to the famed German nightlife scene, the pieces represent the art of moving through the world as defined by club-horse-laughter and self-proclaimed holidays.
Softness and rigidity are themes throughout the collection. Dusty pink fabrics and crisscross dresses are met alongside deconstructed suits and cat and dog prints. Cardigans designed with a dangling trim allow garments to be worn traditionally or creatively. Rather than promoting uniformity, the collection reflects how designers personally dress for their journeys through existence.
