An oasis from the bitter winter, Miami served as the backdrop for the third iteration of Prada Extends, a live event series created and curated by electronic musician Richie Hawtin, aka Plastikman. Prada Extends celebrated the extravagance and vibrancy of Miami and its Latin community. Like with the past events in London and Tokyo, the team created site-specific aesthetics and concepts for the Faena Forum.
“Prada Extends Miami is the third chapter of our creative incubator, bringing like-minded musicians and visual artists together in a night of beautiful aesthetics and frequencies. Prada Extends Miami focused on the bridge that Miami has always created between the Latin community and their early adoption and innovation in electronic music,” Hawtin said.
With Miami being so closely linked to music, especially Latin and electronic music, the live sets were a standout. Other than Hawtin himself, Colombian producer DJ Ela Minus, Buenos Aires-born rapper Sofía Gabanna, and São Paulo DJ Slim Soledad. Music was paired with visuals from Paola Olea, Juan David Figueroa, QUALIA.AV, and Ginger Leigh, aka SYNTHESTRUCT. Guests included Maya Hawke, Hailee Steinfeld, Wisdom Kaye, Eiza Gonzalez, Kimberly Drew, and Amalie Gassmann.
Prada Extends and its ability to shift to each new city's culture speaks to the brand's versatility—with each new city, we see Prada becoming ever-evolving and more dynamic.
