Milan Fashion Week debuted Prada’s Fall/Winter 2023 Menswear collection created by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons explores the principles of fashion, evaluating its importance and impact in the modern world. This collection is an amalgamation of paradox: Prada utilizes rules of simplicity, minimization, comfort, and amplification to create a mens wardrobe of new garments, reductionist tailoring, and graphic prints and knit. The silhouettes are assertive and extreme, exploring the transformation between couture dimensions and the construction of clothing, creating a unique finish that feels both exaggerated and subtle.
The show was held at the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada, built by the Office of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). The exposed concrete walls and slowly rising ceiling gives the space a feeling that is initially intimate and subsequently grand, reflecting the ways that the proportion of design can distort our perception of a space.
