Inspirations for Puppets and Puppets designer Carly Mark’s NYFW collection included Stanley Kubrick film Eyes Wide Shut and Gustave Doré’s Dante’s Inferno illustrations—and most importantly, the modern New York woman. The collection weaves humor, surrealism, and personality together—including resin chocolate chip cookies, demons, bananas, and telephones paired with lace, wool, sequins, and mesh. The collection is accompanied by a collaboration between Mark and Michael Stars, an early 2000’s brand, to breathe new life into the iconic staples that women wore in their adolescence.
