Qing Madi is making it clear that she’s not only a part of the music industry, but she’s also an industry within herself. In 2024 she owned the charts with a spot on Billboard's 21 Under 21,

selected by Vevo as one of their DSCVR Artists to Watchalongside Teezo Touchdown & Fridayy and was part of Apple Music's Africa Rising Class alongside Tyla and Bloody Civilian.

The Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, dancer and entrepreneur is an irrepressible cultural force. Since the young age of 7, the unapologetically cool star on the rise has remained committed to her passion for r&b-afro-pop music. Over the past few years, the prolific storyteller has drawn on her cultural roots to influence her art in an authentic yet impactful new way. The fruits of the chameleonic performer’s labor can be found on her latest project, I Am The Blueprint (JTON/Columbia), a collection of 13 diverse tracks with a timeless quality that balance topics from love and heartbreak to empowerment and vulnerability.

Swiftly becoming one of the fastest rising youngest female vocalists out of Nigeria she is backed by some international industry heavyweights and considered part of Nigeria’s Alte’ movement, a rebellious inspired fusion genre that combines elements of Afrobeats, dancehall, reggae, hip hop and alternative R&B. The term was coined to mean an “alternative” to the traditional Afrobeats sound and individuals within the Alte’ subculture can often be found like Madi rocking blue hairstyles and other forms of fashionable self-expression.

With an impeccably smooth and thick singing voice that is equal parts honey and fire, Qing Madi partners with her production mainstay collaborator Wade Oghenejabor to take listeners on a soulful sonic journey that distinguishes her as an individual artist, or in other words, the blueprint. On the mid-tempo single “Akanchawa,” the creative risk taker puts herself in the driver's seat as she sings about “giving you all my love” over a mellow island beat. Its forthright lyrics articulate Qing Madi’s romantic longings in a poetically provocative manner. The bouncy, up-beat record “Right Here,” showcases Qing Madi’s distinct charisma while the dance floor ready track “Ali Bomaye” demonstrates, yet again, her ability to express a modern form of femininity with an assertive confidence. I Am The Blueprint is a genre-blending declaration that Qing Madi was, is and will always be that girl.

Goosebumps

“Goosebumps is a track that captures the chemistry and intense attraction between two people. This song is a celebration of desire and the electrifying feeling of being in love with someone who make you feel alive.”

Favorite Psycho

“Favorite Psycho is a mood swinging ode to echoes of a love long lost despite commitment show and emotions not tendered to even write there is still an iota of courage to hold

Ali Bomaye

“Ali Bomaye is a poetic love story that captures the strength, devotion and calm that true love can bring. And just like Muhammad Ali, the iconic boxer, he fights for her – not with fists but with love, loyalty and protection.

Akanchawa

“The title Akanchawa often interpreted in Igbo as “Good Hands” or “hands that bring forth blessings” reflects the magnetic appeal of the man at the center of this narrative. It’s a portrayal of infatuation and the irresistible pull of love, capturing the emotional vulnerability and excitement of wanting to be seen and chosen by someone extraordinary.”
